"Good Mourning" concert
Music Ministry

In collaboration with White Bear Lake United Methodist Church, acclaimed vocalist and producer Jennifer Grimm presents Good Mourning, a uniquely intentional concert
experience designed to create space for grief, reflection, and healing through music. Set against the backdrop of a shared, welcoming environment, Good Mourning is not a traditional performance, but an evening of musical remembrance—offering audiences the opportunity to sit with loss in a supported and communal space, while honoring their own individual experiences.
At the heart of the program is a simple but powerful idea: that grief deserves time, attention, and expression. “This evening is about allowing people to feel what they’re carrying,” says Grimm. “There’s no expectation, no performance required from the audience—just space, music, and the quiet understanding that no one is alone in their grief.”
Known for her emotionally resonant performances and compositions featured on NBC, Netflix, Hulu, and stages from The Ordway to Birdland Jazz Club, Grimm brings a deeply human and compassionate approach to this work. Through carefully selected songs and thoughtful pacing, she guides the evening with sensitivity—creating moments of reflection, release, and gentle connection.
The concert embraces both the personal and the collective, offering a rare environment where music serves not only as entertainment, but as a companion through mourning.
Good Mourning invites all who are carrying loss—recent or long-held—to gather, reflect, and be held in
a shared experience of remembrance and light.
