Musical Ensembles

Join Our Vibrant Music Community: We believe that music is an essential part of worship and community. We're proud to offer various ensembles that cater to different skill levels and age groups - and we warmly invite our congregation and community to come and join us!
Whether you're an experienced musician or just starting, we have something for everyone. Our ensembles rehearse regularly and contribute to our worship services and special events throughout the year.

Adult Vocal Choir

Do you like making a joyful noise? Can you do it in tune? Then join chancel choir on Wednesday nights from 7-8:30pm in the sanctuary. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from September through May. Chancel choir sings at most 9am Sunday morning services throughout the academic year. Additionally, choir will engage in two special choral services each year. In December, we'll present Bach Cantata #140 - Wachet auf, and in the spring, we'll perform songs of Bob Chilcot - Little Jazz Mass.

Bach 140: An Advent Cantata On December 17, the Chancel Choir will perform one of J. S. Bach’s most famous cantatas, #140 (Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme/Awake! A voice calls to us). In this cantata, the coming of the Christ child is compared to the “bridegroom for the soul.” Bach wrote well over 330 of these cantatas, and this particular one was first performed in Leipzig on November 25, 1731. The Chancel Choir will be singing the work in the original German, but translations will be provided on the screens. Scientists have postulated that listening to the music of Bach makes us smarter; may it be so. Be smart; come hear this fantastic presentation of choir, soloists, strings, oboe, and organ on December.
