FAQs

Church Office hours:  Monday - Thursday 9:00am - 1:00pm

What do congregants usually wear to church?

We see everything from jeans, to business casual, to suits and dresses. We just want you to come and worship with us.

Is your congregation welcoming of LGBTQ+ People?

We are a community of faith seeking to provide nourishment for the hungers of life, and we welcome all persons, inclusive of race, ethnic background, gender identity, sexual orientation, capability or circumstances of life.

When do you serve communion and how?

Communion is served once a month. All are welcome at God’s table. We encourage using grape juice for communion so those in recovery can participate worry-free. Gluten free options are also available.

How do I join White Bear Lake United Methodist?

New member classes are usually held twice a year. Each new member class lasts approximately 90 minutes. In each class, participants are introduced to our vision and missions; the staff; our theology and worship style; our current offerings; and member expectations. Following the new member class, you will be recognized at the next Sunday service.

How does baptism work at White Bear Lake United Methodist?

We recognize other denominations’ versions of baptism and we baptize all ages—infants, youth, and adults. We encourage you to worship with us prior to requesting baptism to determine if our church is the right faith community for you. Please see our belief statements. The first step toward baptism is scheduling a conversation with a pastor; please contact the office for an appointment.

What if I am United Methodist or a member in another church, and I want to transfer?

If you are new to our congregation, you must take the New Membership Class, even if you are a United Methodist, because we want to ensure you understand who we are, how we have been called to ministries, and where we serve our community.
